COURSE DESCRIPTION (2 days):
The OpTac International Death and Officer-Involved Shootings Program will be held December 11-12, 2008, in Taylor, Michigan.

This program is designed to provide critical information for law enforcement and military officers that have been or could be exposed to traumatic incidents. Death as it relates to crisis situations, disasters, violent acts, and terrorist incidents, along with the corresponding emotional and social issues will provide officers and supervisors with realistic expectations. An emphasis is placed on coping with the aftermath of violent acts that produce immediate or delayed stress. Issues associated with murder, suicide, police-involved suicide, and other events involving sudden death, loss, and injury are covered. Death education, its meaning, and reactions are presented to obtain a better understanding of this process and controversial issue.

The cost to attend the OpTac International Death and Officer-Involved Shootings Program is $499 per person. There is limited space available, therefore paid reservations will be accepted on a priority basis.
