The Sleep Inn and Suites
located at 18216 Colonel Henry K. Douglas Dr., Hagerstown,
MD 21740, is the host hotel. Reservations can be made by calling
301-766-9449. Be sure to ask for the special OpTac International
Program rate of $60.00 per night, for two double beds and
$65 per night, for upgrade rooms (king bed or two doubles
with microwave / refrigerator). Reservations must be made
prior to March 10, 2008, to guarantee these rates. A complimentary
continental breakfast buffet is included in the price.

COURSE
DESCRIPTION (5 days):
The OpTac International Police Sniper
Program
will be held March 24-28, 2008, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
This program is designed
to prepare law enforcement snipers for emergency response
operations and surveillance operations that would require
observation and concealment techniques. From basic to advanced
techniques, this school will benefit officers without sniper
experience, as well as veteran snipers. A strong emphasis
is placed on sniper operational tactics, marksmanship skills,
fieldcraft/stalking skills, observation/reporting techniques,
and urban sniping. This police sniper program is only open
to law enforcement and military personnel. The cost to attend
the OpTac International Police Sniper Program is $699
per student. There is limited space available, therefore,
paid reservations will be accepted on a priority basis.

COURSE
GOALS:
- Understand the principles of sniper marksmanship
skills
- Understand & perform precision sniper-fire
from a variety of shooting positions
- Be able to perform precision sniper-fire on suspect
and cold bore targets located at different distances,
under stressful conditions
- Understand and be able to engage targets under
low-light and nighttime conditions
- Understand & perform stalking skills
- Understand & communicate fiel observations
- Understand the functions of a police sniper &
the tactics utilized in that capacity
- Successfully complete the written exam & qualification
