Counter-Sniper Program

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

The Sleep Inn and Suites located at 18216 Colonel Henry K. Douglas Dr., Hagerstown, MD 21740, is the host hotel. Reservations can be made by calling 301-766-9449. Be sure to ask for the special OpTac International Program rate of $60.00 per night, for two double beds and $65 per night, for upgrade rooms (king bed or two doubles with microwave / refrigerator). Reservations must be made prior to March 15, 2008, to guarantee these rates. A complimentary continental breakfast buffet is included in the price.

 

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION (3 days):
The OpTac International Counter-Sniper Program will be held April 1-3, 2008, in Hagerstown, Maryland.

This professional development program is designed to enhance the operational effectiveness of law enforcement and military snipers in their role of counter-sniper. A strong emphasis is placed on preparation for emergency response and surveillance operations that would require movement, concealment, observation, and target engagement techniques against armed targets. Classroom and field exercises include: counter-sniper operational tactics, counter- and anti-tracking, force on force engagements, marksmanship skills, fieldcraft/stalking skills, communications, and observation/reporting techniques. The cost to attend the OpTac International Counter-Sniper Program is $599 per person. There is limited space available, therefore, paid reservations will be accepted on a priority basis.

  • Understand and be able to implement sniper coding and reporting systems 
  • Understand and be able to perform precision sniper-fire from a variety of  operational situations
  • Be able to perform precision sniper-fire on suspect targets and cold bore targets located at different distances, under stressful conditions
